The Minister, beside taking part in the selected points of the President visit, partook in the meetings related to the cooperation in the area of transport and transport infrastructure. During the Polish-Kazakh Economic Forum, he took part in the talks on possible cooperation in the area of transport and forwarding, and rolling stock manufacture. As a result, it appeared to be possible for the Polish companies to sign contracts in that area.
During the meeting of Minister Bogusław Kowalski with the Kazakh Minister of Transport, the following issues were talked over, eg principles of cooperation for civil aviation supervision offices and signing letters of intent. They also talked about establishing a mutual forwarding company. Conclusion of relevant agreements will take place when the Kazakh Minister of Transport comes to Poland in June 2007.
During his visit to Azerbaijan, Minister Bogusław Kowalski had a word with the Azerbaijani Deputy Minister of Transport Musa Panahov. It was decided to launch preparations of bilateral agreements related to cooperation in the area of road, railway and air transport. The Ministers declared to sign agreements soon so as to lay down the basis for starting transport services and economic cooperation.
Minister B. Kowalski also looked over the project of the railway line connected Azerbaijan and Georgia with Turkey and EU countries.
