The Info Day presenting the FP7-OCEAN-2011 - the "Ocean of Tomorrow 2011" call for proposals will take place on 9 September 2010 in the Conference Centre Albert Borschette in Brussels. In particular, participants are invited to give flash presentations during the event. They should relate to marine and maritime research disciplines, especially maritime transport, offshore energy, tourism, coastal development, resource extraction, fisheries and aquaculture, and public consultation on this commitment (20 July 2010 – 18 January 2011).
The "Ocean of Tomorrow 2011” has been established in the context of the EU’s integrated maritime policy launched in the Communication from the European Commission COM (2007) 575 and European Strategy for Marine and Maritime Research (COM (2008) 534). The initiative also makes a part of the maritime policy of Poland.
The meeting will be attended by European Commissioner for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Maria Damanaki and European Commissioner for Research and Innovation Máire Geoghegan-Quinn. Presentations will also be delivered by representatives of the Directorate-General for Research (DG Research).
