Warsaw, 11 June 2010, Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Infrastructure Maciej Jankowski and Secretary General Fernand Desmyter signed the Declaration of Intent between the Ministry of Infrastructure of the Republic of Poland and the Flemish Ministry for Mobility and Public Works.
The Flemish Delegation stayed in Poland from 10 to 11 June 2010, led by Secretary General at the Ministry for Mobility and Public Works F. Desmyter. The delegation was accompanied by Representative for the Flemish Community and Region to Poland Koen Haverbeke.
On the first day, the Delegation met with the Polish experts to discuss the issues related to logistics, sea ports, Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, road infrastructure financing and revision of the TEN-T guidelines.
During its stay in Poland, the Flemish visited the container terminal WAPA (Warszawa Praga) and another terminal of CARGOSPED, where they were presented the principles of intermodal carriages, e.g. in relation with sea ports in the Benelux. The Delegation also met with the representatives of PKP CARGO S.A.
The Declaration, signed on 11 June 2010, provides a basis for future works in mobility and infrastructure under the Cooperation Programme 2012-2014 between Poland and Flandria, to be formulated in 2011.
