Between 7 and 8 June 2010 Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Infrastructure Anna Wypych-Namiotko stayed in Shanghai (China) as a honorary guest of maritime economic mission to EXPO 2010. The mission was organised by the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development under the patronage of the Ministry of Infrastructure, in cooperation with the Commissioner General of the Polish Section of EXPO 2010.
Polish Pavilion held a conference on maritime and economic cooperation between Poland and China in the afternoon of June 7, 2010, as part of the series activities embracing the "World Oceans Day" which falls on June 8 every year. Viceminister A. Wypych-Namiotko said maritime transport is very important and the Shanghai EXPO provides a very good maritime cooperation platform for China and Poland. She also talked about infrastructure and port construction in Poland. She expected the Chinese students would find maritime universities in Poland very attractive. Polish-Chinese Maritime Forum was a good opportunitiy for entrepreneurs from both countries to start new business relations and reinforce the existing ones. The symposium was organised by Chinese-Polish Joint Stock Shipping Company in Shanghai, Polsteam, maritime ports of Gdańsk, Gdynia, Szczecin-Świnoujście, in cooperation with the Trade and Investment Promotion Section of the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Shanghai.
The Chinese Government was represented by Deputy Director General of China Maritime Safety Administration Zhi Guang Lu.
Viceminister A. Wypych-Namiotko, as an honorary guest, took part in the opening ceremony of 4th International Exhibition for Logistics, Telematics and Transport „Transport&Logistics China”, one of the biggest events from the sector of transport and logistics in the world. A. Wypych-Namiotko visited the Polish exhibition area. She also opened the Polish-Chinese seminary on maritime transport and logistics. The entrepreneurs and representatives of the authorities from the marine areas talked about more extensive maritime connections and better cooperative programmes between Poland and China.
