Warsaw, 9 March 2010, a Polish-Russian meeting was held to discuss the issues related to international road haulage. The discussion, chaired by the deputy ministers for road transport: T. Jarmuziewicz (Poland) and N. Ljamow (Russia), was focused on the road haulage operator licences for the year 2010. The negotiators reached a compromise.
As a result, the quota of 150,000 road haulage licences is granted to each side. Road carriers in Poland are awarded 125,000 bilateral/transit road haulage licences and 25,000 to/from third-party country road haulage licences.
The compromise allows carriers in Poland to maintain the efficiency of road haulage at the same level as it was a year ago.
