Masovian Housing Cooperative was established 30 years ago as a result of its separation from Płock Housing Cooperative. The cooperative economic condition currently shows that division processes may bring positive results in cooperative movement - said Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Infrastructure Piotr Styczeń during the opening ceremony of 30th anniversary of Masovian Housing Cooperative in Płock, 29 January 2010.
The anniversary is an opportunity to summarize the cooperative work and debate on its condition and future in Poland. The Masovian Housing Cooperative looks good as compared with other housing cooperatives. It has been striving to improve the energy performance of its buidlings by introducing thermal modernisation for six years. What is more, it is going to continue this process up to 2015.
In 2003, a series of actions was implemented to reduce internal debt and system of exchange in housing supplies. As a result, the cooperative Masovian Housing Cooperative did as best as ever last year. Its management took advantage of economic slowdown to renegotiate concluded modernisation contracts, which allowed to reach better results than expected. The cooperative also decided to took over a part of objectives previously implemented by outsourcing companies, and provide services itself outside Płock. This allows to keep exploitation costs for cooperative members at a stable rate. In addition to 40 new appartments finished last year, the cooperative is going to build another 125 appartments within the three following years.
During the ceremony of 30th anniversary, persons of merit to the cooperative members and the town of Płock were awarded with state and trade decorations. Marshall of Masovian Voivodship Adam Struzik decorated President of the Masovian Housing Cooperative Lech Chodkowski with a commemorative medal Pro Masovia, granted as an honour to those who worked for the good of Masovian Voivodship.
