24.06.2009; ITSO Director General visited the Ministry of InfrastructureOn 24 June 2009, Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Infrastructure Magdalena Gaj met with Director General of International Telecommunications Satellite Organisation (ITSO) Jose Toscano.

 

 

 

24.06.2009; ITSO Director General visited the Ministry of InfrastructureThe meeting was aimed at discussing the issues related to a forthcoming 33rd ITSO Extraordinary Assembly of Parties (Rome, 8-9 July 2009) that will hold disputes in connection with frequencies available to operators within the member states. For this purpose, the participants talked about the principles for maintaining and developing satellite telecommunications, which is the only one source of communications in remote places of Africa, Asia and Latin America. Satellite communications, because of its universal availability, is getting more and more used in the developed countries. 

24.06.2009; ITSO Director General visited the Ministry of InfrastructureITSO is the biggest intergovernmental satellite telecommunications organisation that groups 149 countries. The Organization underwent an important restructuring in 2001 in order to maintain supervision over Intelsat responsible for: 1) providing global satellite telecommunications services; 2) servicing customers with permanent satellite connections; 3) securing access to the system on non-discriminatory basis.

Poland is a member of ITSO Advisory Committe, and along with Azerbaijan, represents CITU countries (Nortern Asia and Eastern Europe). In Poland, a ground satellite station of Psary (Kielce) cooperates with Intelsat.

Deputy Minister M. Gaj felicitated Jose Toscano on being appointed as Director General of International Telecommunications Satellite Organisation.
