The Deputy Minister also talked about the Master Plan for Railway Transport till 2030. He noticed that 5,000km long railways would be modernised. The main objectives for conventional railways will cover about 35 bln PLN.

The panel discussion, held within the framework of UNIFE General Assembly, was also attended by Deputy President of PKP Polish Railway Lines Marek Pawlik, and Director of Railway Scientific and Technical Centre Andrzej Żurkowski.

The participants stressed that the Master Plan for Railway Transport till 2030 meant a big step on the way to modern railways in Poland.

UNIFE – Union des Industries Ferroviares Européenes – represents leading rail supply companies in Europe active in the design, manufacturing, maintenance and refurbishment of rail transport systems, subsystems and related equipment.

The assembly was organised in Warsaw to show the important role of Poland in the European market of railway carriages. “Among all the countries of Central and Eastern Europe, Poland most actively engages in the process of transformation, modernisation and development of rail transport. The Polish Government has implemented considerable reforms within PKP Group and started intensively modernising railway stock and infrastructure” – wrote UNIFE Director-General Michael Clausecker in the invitation to the participants.
