17-19 June 2009, Warsaw hosted the General Assembly of UNIFE – Association of the European Rail Industry. During the conference, Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Infrastructure Juliusz Engelhardt spoke about the future of railway infrastructure in Poland.
The Deputy Minister also talked about the Master Plan for Railway Transport till 2030. He noticed that 5,000km long railways would be modernised. The main objectives for conventional railways will cover about 35 bln PLN.
The panel discussion, held within the framework of UNIFE General Assembly, was also attended by Deputy President of PKP Polish Railway Lines Marek Pawlik, and Director of Railway Scientific and Technical Centre Andrzej Żurkowski.
The participants stressed that the Master Plan for Railway Transport till 2030 meant a big step on the way to modern railways in Poland.

The assembly was organised in
