On 18 July 2006, in order to minimize negative consequences related to traffic prohibition for some lorries with permissible total weight above 12 tonnes, Minister of Transport decided to amend the Ministry of Infrastructure Ordinance of 18 August 2003 on temporary restrictions and traffic prohibition for some vehicles.

Ministry of Transport is going to amend the Ordinance on Road Traffic Restrictions. In a draft, the Department of Roads and Road Transport suggested repealing road traffic restrictions due to high palsticity of road surface related to high temperatures at the moment.

Since 1 May 2006 digital tachographs are obligatory in Poland. Poland was successful in implementing the idea of digital tachographs, laid down in EU regulations of 1998 and 2002. It has been only seven months since the Digital Tachograph Act of 29 July 2005 entered into force on 5 October 2005 and the idea was implemented. So called „old” EU Member Countries struggled with the problem of digital tachographs for 4-5 years. It will have been only by the end of 2006 when Cyprus, Greece, Hungary, Portugal, Slavonia and Slovakia are expected to start using digital tachographs.
