On 14 October 2011, Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Infrastructure Maciej Jankowski took part in the inauguration ceremony of the Office of the Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications (BEREC Office) in its full operational capacity in its new premises in Riga, Latvia. In the European Union, an European Electronic Toll Service (EETS) is being introduced. EETS covers all the road networks and tolled infrastructure in the European Union on which road usage is declared electronically by means of an on board unit. Commission Decision 2009/750/EC of 6 October 2009 defines the allowed technological solutions for carrying out electronic toll transactions.
