1. The following issues fall within the competence of Department of Real Estate Management:
1) real estate management act;
2) act on transformation of perpetual usufruct into property ownership;
3) act on family allotments as regards real estate management;
4) act on the sale of state company flats, flats owned by some trading partnerships with public share or state corporate bodies, and some other state flats - within the scope of real estate management;
5) act amending some acts on property ownerhip acquisition.

2. The Department executes the tasks of the minister for construction, spatial development and housing under the act on supporting the development of telecommunication services and networks as regards the determination of charges for use of the property from state-owned or public entities.

3. The Department conducts administrative proceedings and calls on behalf of the minister in legal and administrative cases, and before common law courts in matters within the competence of the minister for construction, spatial development and housing under the following provisions:
1) real estate law, concerning:
a) refusal to certificate and deprive professional qualifications of real estate appraisal, professional licences of real estate agents and administrators,
b) professional responsibility of real estate appraisers, agents and administrators.
2) act on the principles of recognition of qualifications acquired in the European Union as regards the recognition of professional qualifications.

4. The Department also:
1) conducts proceedings regarding the certification of professional qualifications within the scope of real estate appraisal, professional licences of real estate agents and administrators;
2) keeps central registers of those with such qualifications and licences;
3) cooperates with trade organizations of real estate appraisers, agents and administrators.

5. The Department provides clerical office support services to:
1) The Real Estate Council;
2) The State Qualification Commission;
3) The Professional Liability Commission.
