12:35On 18 January 2007, Minister of Transport Jerzy Polaczek filed a proposal of detailed schedule with preparatory steps and construction works for Toll Motorway A2: Świecko – Nowy Tomyśl to the President of Executive Board, Autostrada Wielkopolska JSC.

13:27Year 2006 was record-breaking with respect to absorbed funds for road investments as well as worth of implemented works. The amount of 7.2 bln PLN, ie 2.6 bln PLN of state budget funds and 4.6 bln PLN of National Road Fund (NRF), was spent for road investments. In 2006, as compared with 2005, the state budget funds dicreased by 10.5%, and NRF funds increased by 38.5%. As a whole, road investment funding increased by 15.5% as compared with 2005. The worth of the implemented works, under NRF, reached more than 600 mln PLN in 2006, but the payment was postponed for 2007.

12:32On 15 January 2007, Minister of Transport Jerzy Polaczek issued a decision terminating Minister of Transport and Maritime Economy Decision No TR-/e-025-70/97 of 25 August 1997 granted to Gdańsk Transport Company (GTC) JSC for construction and operation of Toll Motorway A1: Gdańsk (Pruszcz Gdański Junction, km 0+000) – Toruń (Czerniewice Junction, km 151+900) amended by Minister of Infrastructure Decision No SP-2x/025/134/04 of 20 August 2004.
Act on Special Purpose Road Companies passed

10:25Press Office of the Ministry of Transport informs that on 12 January 2007 the Parliament passed the Act on Special Purpose Road Companies. The Act will now go to President for his signature.

14:45Press Office of the Ministry of Transport informs that from 31 October 2005 to 11 January 2007, within the scope of its competence, the Parliament passed 9 acts and issued 95 ordinances. Currently, the Ministry has been working on 10 acts, 5 bills are under consideration of the Parliament, and 30 ordinaces are under legislative works.
Poland as the biggest beneficiary of TEN-T in 2006

15:57Poland will receive 24.2mln EUR to implement 7 projects in the area of air, rail and road transport, selected by the European Commission in 2006. The EU funds were attributed to co-finance projects within TEN-T whose budget amounted to 126.35mln EUR in 2006. Given that the European Commission, by way of competition, evaluated the offers submitted by all the EU member countries, the fact that Poland was granted 19.2% total accessible funds means that Poland, as a year ago, received the most funds under TEN-T budget. In Poland, the competition was co-ordinated by by the Ministry of Transport, an entity which manages TEN-T.
Parts of Expressway S-69 opened

15:05Minister of Transport issued Announcement of 29 December 2006 on maximum fee rates for 1km use of motorway in 2007 (under Act of 27 October 1994 on Paid Motorways and National Road Fund, Article 37a (3)). These are maximum fee rates for 1km use of motorway collected by General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways within the period of contract for construction and operation or exclusively operation of paid motorway, on condition that the motorway is ready for fee collection.

15:04On 3 January 2007, Council of Ministers adopted the Bill on Electromagnetic Compatibility (EC). The Bill is comprised of rules for functioning of electric and electronic appliances, installations and systems so that they could work without intolerable electromagnetic disorder (electromagnetic compatibility).
