On 15 September 2011, the European Parliament will hold a debate on the European Union's policy approach to the ITU World Radiocommunication Conference. The Conference will take place between 23 January and 17 February 2012.

On 12 September 2011, representatives of key Polish telecom operators signed in the Ministry of Infrastructure, Warsaw (Poland), a Memorandum of Understanding on lower roaming prices between Poland and Russia.

- We want to make Poland open for the sea. That is why we modernise Polish sea ports, build new handling terminals, develop road and railway infrastructure, which give better access to the ports. As a result, the Baltic Sea becomes our window to the world. We want to take this opportunity to make the Port of Gdańsk an international hub, from which cargo is transported around the world - said Minister of Infrastructure Cezary Grabarczyk on 7 September 2011 in Gdańsk during a conference “Baltic Sea Region: Safety & Security”, organised under the patronage of the Ministry of Infrastructure as a part of the 16th International Maritime Exhibition BALTEXPO.

Initiating a debate concerning non-budgetary forms of funding transport infrastructure and exchanging experience in the field of investments implemented in the Public-Private Partnership formula were the two objectives of the informal meeting of EU ministers for transport, to take place between 5 and 6 September 2011 in Sopot. The Polish Presidency was represented by Minister of Infrastructure Cezary Grabarczyk.

Warsaw, 31 August 2011, Undersecretary of State Magdalena Gaj and Ambassador Plentipotentary of Georgia in Poland Nikoloz Nikolozishvili signed a Letter of Intent on the cooperation between the Polish Ministry of Infrastructure and the Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development in the field of electronic communications, internation technologies and postal services.

The Ministry of Infrastructure and the Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation have signed the Agreement on the use of the frequency band 790-862 MHz (the digital dividend) for terrestrial systems.

Brussels, 29 June 2011 - President of the European Commission José Manuel Barroso has put forward proposals for a multi-annual budget for the period 2014-2020. It focuses on priority funding at the EU level that provides true added value. For instance, a Connecting Europe Facility that funds cross-border projects in energy, transport and information technology. A new fund, the Connecting Europe Facility, aims to boost the pan European value of infrastructure projects. With € 40 billion at its disposal, and another €10 billion from the Cohesion Fund, it includes a preliminary list of transport, energy and ICT projects that bring more interconnectivity across Europe.

Representatives from EU Member States (attachés), delegates from the General Secretariat of the Council of the European Union and the European Commission came to Gdańsk, Gdynia and Sopot (Poland) for the EU Council Working Party Transport (H1) attaché trip - the second meeting of experts organised from the calendar of the Polish Presidency organised by the Ministry of Infrastructure between 27 and 29 July 2011.
