Prime Minister of Poland Donald Tusk and Prime Minister of China Wen Jiabao met on 25 April 2012 in the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, Warsaw. The meeting was attended by Minister of Transport, Cosntruction and Maritime Economy.

Minister of Transport, Construction and Maritime Economy Sławomir Nowak met with representatives of the European Commission on 23 April 2012 in Brussels to brief on the state of play for ongoing railway projects and talk about the opportunities for new investments that could be financed with the contribution from the EU funds. The Commission agreed to support the proposed revitalisation of railway lines, which may be considered as a considerable progress. To this end, Minister Sławomir Nowak met with Commissioner for Transport Siim Kallas, Commissioner for Regional Policy Johannes Hahn and Chairman of the European Parliament Transport and Tourism Committee Brian Simpson. The discussions were also attended by Deputy Minister responsible for EU projects Patrycja Wolińska-Bartkiewicz and Deputy Minister responsible for railway transport Andrzej Massel.

The Ministry of Transport, Construction and Maritime Economy offers its deepest condolences to the Pakistani people on the tragic plane crash near Islamabad. The Ministry expresses its sincere sorrow and sympathy to the families of those killed and injured.

Newly opened terminal at Rzeszów-Jasionka Airport will increase its capacity up to 1.5 mln passengers a year. The terminal will serve 700 passengers per hour.

The meeting was attended by the Polish Minister of Transport, Construction and Maritime Economy Sławomir Nowak and the Spanish Minister of Development Ana Pastor.

Minister of Transport, Construction and Maritime Economy Sławomir Nowak appointed Paweł Szaciłło Acting Director of the Centre for the EU Transport Projects as of 3 April 2012.

Minister of Transport, Construction and Maritime Economy Sławomir Nowak offered his deepest condolences to the Russian Minister of Transport Igor Levitin on the tragic plane crash near Tyumen, Siberia. The Minister expressed his sincere sorrow and sympathy to the families of those killed and injured, and also all citizens of Russia.
