Now, construction and conversion works exceed 1255 km km national roads. Construction works include new roads, i.e. 620 km motorways, 430 km expressways and more than 130 km town bypasses. Under the National Road Construction Programme 2008-2012 75 km of the existing road network is undergoing conversion.

This year, the Competition was organised under the honorary patronage of the Ministry of Infrastructure, Ministry of National Eductaion, and Ministry of Sport and Tourism.

The Info Day presenting the FP7-OCEAN-2011 - the "Ocean of Tomorrow 2011" call for proposals will take place on 9 September 2010 in the Conference Centre Albert Borschette in Brussels. In particular, participants are invited to give flash presentations during the event. They should relate to marine and maritime research disciplines, especially maritime transport, offshore energy, tourism, coastal development, resource extraction, fisheries and aquaculture, and public consultation on this commitment (20 July 2010 – 18 January 2011).

The European Commission's Directorate-General for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (DG MARE) has launched a public consultation on Integrated Maritime Policy for the Atlantic Ocean sea basin.

The European Commission has launched a study (SMART 2010/0036) to look at the effective speed of the retail broadband services by measuring advertised and effective speed, the difference between rural and urban areas and between ISPs. The study will provide information on a number of key performance indicators such as http download speed, ping performance, DNS lookup time and packet loss. The overall objective is to assess the effective quality of the broadband market for end users and show comparison between Member States.

The European Commission's Directorate-General for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (DG MARE) has published an English version of the Atlas of the European Seas and Oceans.

Polish Secretary of State at the Ministry of Infrastructure Tadeusz Jarmuziewicz and Lithuanian Vice Minister of Transport and Communications Rimvydas Vaštakas signed a Letter of Intent on cooperation with regard to the development of the Baltic Functional Airspace Block Initiative on 29 July 2010 in Vilnius (Lithuania).

- We want to talk about our experiences on how to support housing modernisation - said Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Infrastructure on 29 July 2010 in Warsaw during the meeting with Secretary of State at the Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Development Reiner Bomba (Germany). The German delegation also met with the experts from the Polish Building Research Institute to talk about low energy building, new standards for ultra-low energy building, energy saving in construction and sustainable urban development.

- Poland faces towards the sea. The maritime policy marks an important turning point - said Minister of Infrastructure Cezary Grabarczyk during a meeting on 22 July 2010 with the EU delagtion led by Commissioner for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Maria Damanki. The meeting was also attended by Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Infrastructure Anna Wypych-Namiotko.
