Transport Deputy Ministers Tadeusz Jarmuziewicz (Poland) and Sergey Aristov (Russian Federation) met for a discussion on 3 May 2012 in Leipzig during a ministerial session of the Annual Summit on Seamless Transport of the International Transport Forum. The ministers talked about current problems in the field of road transport services between the two countries.

Minister of Transport, Construction and Maritime Economy Sławomir Nowak met with representatives of the European Commission on 23 April 2012 in Brussels to brief on the state of play for ongoing railway projects and talk about the opportunities for new investments that could be financed with the contribution from the EU funds. The Commission agreed to support the proposed revitalisation of railway lines, which may be considered as a considerable progress. To this end, Minister Sławomir Nowak met with Commissioner for Transport Siim Kallas, Commissioner for Regional Policy Johannes Hahn and Chairman of the European Parliament Transport and Tourism Committee Brian Simpson. The discussions were also attended by Deputy Minister responsible for EU projects Patrycja Wolińska-Bartkiewicz and Deputy Minister responsible for railway transport Andrzej Massel.
